This is the second to last edition of This Week In Australian Property for the year. Yes, this means it’s two weeks to Xmas! Yikes!
Some good news for first home buyers this week with the First Home Super Saver Scheme passed through both houses of government. Alongside this bill, they have also passed a downsizing incentive for people aged 65+ who are looking to sell up and move to a smaller home. I’ll be interested to see in particular how the superannuation scheme works in practice now it’s been approved – hoping any caveats within it don’t make this unachievable for those who need it most.
www.realestate.com.au has published their most viewed homes of 2017 list – and there are some beautiful homes in here. It’s definitely worth a look.
While looking at lists, I’ve also found an article that lists the top ten suburbs in Australia for the highest percentage of rental properties. They say these suburbs are at risk with any downturns re property prices; however on the plus side, if you’re looking to rent they are worth checking out.
Frank Valentic of Advantage Property Consulting gives his view on negotiating a settlement period when buying a home. Definitely, from our point of view, make sure you have enough time to get all your paperwork completed and finance approved!
Meghan Markle has listed her Toronto home for sale now that she has moved into Nottingham Cottage with fiance Prince Harry; and lastly if you’re looking for a gift for your beloved pet, then look no further with the launch of IKEA’s first pet range – now your pets’ furniture can fit in with your home decor! Bonus!
Enjoy!
