Hi everyone! Let’s take a look at what’s been happening in Australian property over the last week.
First up, who could miss the hype around The Block auctions on Sunday night? With mixed results across the five houses, it really shows that location isn’t everything. The styling (and therefore personal taste) was a big factor. If you didn’t watch this season, now that’s it all over, it’s worth taking a look for renovation ideas. Next years show will be filmed at what was The Gatwick Hotel in St Kilda, which will be an interesting transformation.
We had a record number of houses up for auction in Melbourne over the weekend – over 2,000! This is helping buyers at auction, with more choice bringing down the clearance rate, and keeping prices steady.
Across the nation, we are seeing slower property price growth, with Sydney, in particular, slowing down. This is the third consecutive month with slower growth and you can see the figures across the states in one of this weeks’ articles.
If you’re renovating, take a look at some inspiration for your home’s entrance; and lastly, Cary Grant’s former Palm Springs home is up for sale – take a peek inside!
Enjoy!
Leanne
